Exceptional antique late Victorian (1890s-1900) mourning handbag. The repoussé sterling silver frame features ornate designs of cherubs, grapevines, and garlands of flowers.
Made by Gorham, the sterling silver frame is marked "sterling" and stamped with hallmarks (lion, anchor, "G") and "2357". The body is made of black moiré silk.
