Vintage Reuge Cylinder 3/36 Note Swiss Music Box.
Plays Vienna, Rud. Sieczynsky; City of my Dreams, F. Lehar; and The Merry Widow Morning Leaves, Joh. Strauss.
Works perfectly with unbelievable tone. This is an original Swiss Cylinder Cartel musicbox, manufactured today on the same principles that the first mechanical movements were made in Switzerland during the period 1815-1850.
Many man-hours are required to make such small instruments. The tuning alone takes three to six hours. The cases are made of finest solid hardwood, usually walnut, and this gives the music box the clarity, sound and charm of antique music boxes.
INSTRUCTION: To operate, wind bottom key carefully, then push metal button to the right to start music. To stop push button back. When not in use and when shipping your music box the movement should be in the stop position. Every ten years a little watchmaker's oil is recommended.
